HS inaugurates 1st International Drawings and Graphic Prints Exhibition 2011



Chandigarh, Sanjay Pahwa: In the evening today, Home Secretary Sh. Ram Niwas inaugurated the 1st International Drawings and Graphic Prints Exhibition 2011 at Art Gallery of Government College of Art and Exhibition Hall of Government Museum & Art Gallery , Sector -10 respectively. Also present were the Director Museum, Principal Government College of Arts, participating artists and students from GCA. This exhibition has been organised by Society for development of Films & Arts as a part of on going Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Government College of Arts.
SODEFA –the organising NGO has been dedicated towards the promotion of work  of Artists from various spheres like Fine Arts, theatre, Music and other cultural forms. The exhibition has got  enormous response with participation of 180 artists from UK, Finland, Canada, Hong Kong and also from all across India.
 The concept behind exhibition is to “Let the global peace live if Harmony takes over the planet rather than global warming”. While taking the round of the exhibition, Home secretary appreciated the art exhibited by various artists and wished the organisers immense success in their endeavour. While encouraging them to get more exhibitions of International standards to city beautiful, He further added that such exhibitions will give youth of the region much required exposure in the upcoming field of graphics
