HS visits Institute of Correctional Administration

Chandigarh, Sanjay Pahwa : The Home Secretary -cum-Director, Institute of Correctional Administration, Chandigarh along with the Chief Architect, Chief Engineer UT made a round of the premises of the ICA to review the current status of the work regarding construction of additional  lavatories and renovation of first floor (West Wing) of Institute of Correctional Administration,  Chandigarh.  The Home Secretary, Chandigarh directed Chief architect to immediate complete renovations of both the first and second floors of the West Wing on the pattern of U.T. State Guest House by providing vitrified tiles in the all the rooms, corridors and also in balconies apart from  granite
flooring on the stairs as well as false ceiling on both the floors of the West Wing of the Institute.       He instructed Chief Engineer to submit rough cost estimates for making provision of Badminton Court in the premises of the ICA in consultation with the Department of Chief Architect, UT  Chandigarh who will provide necessary drawings and further directed to immediately carry out the job regarding repair / strengthening of beams/slab/facia/Waterproof treatment and retile terracing of East Wing of Hostel No. 3 of ICA. The Chief Architect apprised that renovation of common room and table tennis room will start soon.   The Home Secretary also inspected the library of the  Institute and noticed that there is seepage in the room for which he immediately passed on the instructions to the Superintending Engineer, Public Health to take immediate steps in this regard.
