WORKSHOP ON ART OF FABRIC PAINTING IN PGGCG-11 CHANDIGARH

A 7-day Workshop on ‘Fevicryl Hobby Ideas-The Art of Fabric Painting’ organized by the Career Counseling and Placement Cell in collaboration with Fine Art Department of Post-Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh concluded today. It was a Free Certificate Crash Course on Suits Designing arranged with the help of Pidilite Industries. Mr. Gagan Arora, Area Market Development Manager and Mr. Rakesh Sen Creative Craft Co-ordinator from Pidilite were the resource-persons.
The workshop was a great opportunity for the students to interact and learn the art of fabric painting from the experts in the field, especially Mr. Rakesh Sen. They painted clothing outfits and the patterns ranged from flowers, petals to geometric designs. On the concluding today, an exhibition of the works was held which was highly appreciated by the staff and guests. It was highly encouraging for the students as they got many orders from visitors for painting their outfits. As many as seven students were given job offer letters as trainers and seven more were short-listed. Principal, Mrs. Achila Dogra motivated the students to pursue this hobby and try to shape it as a career because a great many opportunities exist in this field.
