PIKENDER PAL SINGH TAKES OVER AS THE REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF CII NORTHERN REGION

 Mr Pikender Pal Singh has taken over as the new Regional Director of Confederation of Indian Industry (Northern Region) stated a press release from CII, Northern Region
In a career spanning over 20 years, Pikender has worked in different capacities and departments of the Confederation. Prior to assuming the position of Regional Director, he was responsible for the implementation of the CII national theme of India @75, a vision building exercise to transform India into an economically vital, technologically innovative, socially and ethically vibrant leader by 2022 , in Northern states. The exercise was spread over 5 states which included Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand. It was under his leadership, the states developed vision documents for preparing a roadmap to economic development and inclusive growth in the region. Taking forward the path breaking initiative of India@75 in Northern region, Singh worked bringing together all stakeholders including the industry, government, institutions, community groups and individuals to translate the vision into a reality.
One of his other areas of responsibilities included facilitating and catalyzing change by working closely with the State Governments on policy issues, enhancing efficiency, competitiveness and expanding business opportunities for industry through a range of specialized services and global linkages for various sectors – manufacturing, engineering, food processing, textiles, IT/ITES, Infrastructure, Education, Healthcare, to name a few.
With a specialization of over 15 years of conceptualizing and building brand for tradefairs, Pikender has been actively involved in institutionalizing the major National & International Trade Fairs of CII, which included Agro Tech, CeraGlass India 2010 , Tex Tech and other B-2-B trade shows in the Region.
As a part of various delegations and networking assignments, he has travelled to Italy, Hungary, Pakistan, Mauritius, and Belgium. He was also a part of Punjab Chief Minister’s delegation to Israel, Egypt and Dubai representing CII at WATEC 2009.
A firm believer in the theory of CHANGE, Singh says “A break from the past is necessary both in terms of thinking and action. It requires partnerships with diverse stakeholders ranging from government to individuals, and community groups to institutions. And for this we need to develop next practices that help us achieve the vision.”, expressed Pikender . The northern Region would further strengthen its linkages with its membership spread over 9 states in the north, business opportunity for MSMEs , Skill development , Affirmative Action and ground interface with the state government are some of the thrust areas for the region in the coming months , stated the new Regional Director .
Mr Pikender is a Post Graduate from Delhi University and holds specialization in Marketing, Business Management and Trade Fairs. Urge to learn, trust and development of people in a professional environment, are imbibed in his work ethics
