In a major break through Chandigarh Police on 30.04.11 succeeded in arresting the third accused namely Nand Kishore s/o Ramesh Kumar R/O Village Launor, P.S Fatehpur 84, Distt. Unao, UP. Age 26 years, involved in the kidnapping and murder of a minor boy namely Khushpreet Singh was arrested. A team under the supervision of DSP Satbir Singh headed by SI Jaspal Singh and SI Shadi Lal was dispatched to UP for the hunt of the third accused involved in Case FIR No. 421 dated 21.12.10 U/S 369,364A,365,302,201, 34 IPC, Police Station Sector-34, Chandigarh.
Two accused namely Sukhdev Singh @ Sukha S/O Late Sh. Harchand Singh R/O House No.1309, Village Burail, UT, Chandigarh. Age 36, Years and Gurvinder Singh @ Binder S/O Late Sh. Harchand Singh R/O House No.1309/1, Village Burail, UT, Chandigarh. Age 32, Years were arrested on 22.03.2011, on the interrogation of accused Sukhdev Singh @ Sukha name of third persons involved in the crime figured out to be as Nand Kishore, a labourer, who used to work with Sukhdev Singh.
On 22.12.10 Nand Kishore, who is a labourer with Sukhdev Singh went to the house of Sukhdev Singh where he was upraised about the kidnapping of Khushpreet Singh as per their plan. During interrogation it has also been revealed that while Sukhdev Singh was away making ransom call to the chacha of the ransom boy Gurvinder and Nand Kishore was guarding Khushpreet at Sukhdev’s house.
After making a ransom call Sukhdev Singh reached Burail and parked the scooty at his home and asked Nand Kishore to join him, they borrowed a passion motor cycle and helmet from Jassi one known of Sukhdev and told Jassi that they need motor cycle for going to sector-22, Chandigarh. Nand Kishore before wearing the helmet covered his face with cloth as directed by Sukhdev Singh and both of them went to kharar on the borrowed motor cycle. On reaching Kharar Sukhdev made a call from one of the STD and asked Sukhwinder Singh (Chacha) to start walking towards Deshu Majra and he was also directed that he should switch off his mobile phone and put it in the bag containing money. They saw Sukhwinder Singh walking towards Deshu Majra and nobody was around him. They tied a cloth on the rear number plate of the Motor Cycle and Sukhdev Singh covered his face only the eyes were visible and on reaching near Deshu Majra the bag containing money and phone was taken by Nand Kishore as Sukhdev Singh was driving the motor cycle and they fled away, after reaching sector-52, where Nand Kishore used to reside (store of Sukhdev Singh) the bag was put in another bag and they reached Burail. On reaching Burail the motor cycle was again handed over to Jassi and Nand Kishore was asked to go back.
Nand Kishore came to know about the arrest of Sukhdev Singh and Gurvinder Singh and due to this reason he was avoiding coming to Chandigarh. Nand Kishore was hiding himself in the mund area (Kattri) situated in the river bank of Ganga in District Unao, UP from where he was arrested after the long and tiring operation of four days.
Nand Kishore was produced in the court of Duty Magistrate Sh. Ranjiv Kumar, JMIC, Chandigarh and his two days police remand was obtained. The investigation of the case is under progress.
