Chandigarh Police solves Prince Kidnapping Case in a Flash

Chandigarh, Sanjay Pahwa :- Chandigarh Police made all right moves to solve the prince kidnapping case in just four hours after being informed. IG Pardip Shrivastav & SSP Naunihal Singh addressed the conference at Police Headquarters after solving the kidnapping case. DIG Ghuman, SP Traffic & Security H.S. Doon, DSP Satbir Singh & DSP Jaswant Khaira were also present at the conference.
Around 2.00 PM on 08.02.2011 Dinesh, father of the kidnapped boy informed the Police Station, Sector 26 that his son Prince age 1¾ years went missing since 9.00 AM this morning. Around 1.45 PM father of the boy had received a ransom call on his mobile phone demanding Rs.5.00 lacs for the release of his son.
The information was immediately attended to by Inspector Siri Parkash, SHO/PS/26 and the senior officers were also informed of this happening. The SHO deciphered the call and despatched a team of officers to the STD both from where the call was ostensibly made. The said team managed to procure the identity of the ransom caller and managed to locate them near by. Two boys on the motorcycle were overpowered and brought to PS/26. On quick and sharp interrogation they admitted to the kidnapping the and revealed the names of other accomplices. The arrested accused revealed that the kidnapped boy has been taken to an orchard in Siswan forest near Mullanpur. The crime team, that was constituted, in the meanwhile raided the farm house but with little success. It was then revealed that the kidnapped boy Prince has been taken to hilly area between Bharatgarh and Una. The arrested youth were further interrogated and made to contact the kidnappers at Bharatgarh. At Bharatgarh, kidnappers were made to believe that the kidnapping was going on according to their plan. They were further told that the ransom money has been received by them and they should bring the child back towards Chandigarh . On route from Ropar traps were laid and another two kidnappers, alongwith the kidnapped child Prince, were apprehended. In total four kidnappers – Amarpal son of Parkash, r/o Jhuggi No. 2618, Phase-2, Bapu Dham, Sector 26, 19 years (who used to sell Adrak in Subji Mandi, Sector 26), Banwari @ Dabli son of Lachhman r/o Jhuggi No. 2410, Phase-2, Bapu Dham, Sector 26, age 18½ years (used to sell shimla mirch in Subji Mandi), Suresh son of Salim, r/o Jhuggi No. 1790, Phase-2, Bapu Dham, Sector 26, age 20 years (used to sell hari mirch in Subji Mandi), Surra son of Beed Singh, Bapu Dham, Sector 26, Age 20 years (used to sell lassan in Subji Mandi) have been arrested by swift action of district police and the crime branch of Chandigarh Police under overall supervision of SSP, Chandigarh. The child has been identified and handed over to the parents. Since the kidnappers were driving motorcycle at breakneck speed when they were apprehended by the police, the child fell on the road and sustained minor injuries on the forehead. He has been referred to the PGI for keeping him under observations.
It is very pertinent to point out that the Chandigarh Administration stood by the police in providing all possible assistance. At one point of time it was felt necessary to procure a helicopter to rush police team to hill area in Una (HP). The Home Secretary, Chandigarh Administration, coordinated with the Ministry of Defence and Air officer Commanding, Chandigarh to keep a helicopter stand by.
