India, Netherlands bilateral trade to scale new heights

PHD Chamber Signs MOU with PUM, Netherlands Senior Experts
Chandigarh, Sanjay Pahwa:
“India and Netherlands need to intensify the bilateral economic cooperation and capitalise on the new trade and investment opportunities” said John de Bruijn, country co-ordinator, PUM Netherlands Senior Experts, The Hague, The Netherlands. He was here to discuss the trade and investment opportunities available in both the countries.
He said that PUM, currently in India, is looking for business opportunities more specifically in sectors such as; agro, automotive and biotechnology. The other areas which Dutch companies could lend its expertise included; water management, infrastructure, life sciences & health, logistics and creative industry, he added.
PHD and PUM signed an MoU to establish a partnership to offer mutual assistance in organizing various activities with a view to promote business opportunities in Netherlands for Indian SMEs and conduct expert missions to enhance the quality and productivity to maintain close and regular contacts with the aim of exchanging information and publications on general understanding of the market and investment situation in their respective countries in respect of SMEs.
PHD and PUM agreed to facilitate each other in the visit of delegations of
entrepreneurs/ experts for mutual cooperation and promoting activities of both parties and addressing issues of mutual as well as independent concerns.
Both agreed to use their best endeavours to identify and resolve
bottlenecks in the expansion of bilateral economic cooperation in particular in respect of company interactions in SME sphere.
Rajiv Bali, Chairman, Punjab Committee, PHD Chamber, said that this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between PHD and PUM sets out the agreement of both the parties to co-operate in areas of mutual interest for the benefit of SMEs.
Earlier, sharing that India exports mineral fuels, oils, apparel, organic chemicals and fruits to Netherlands and the imports from Netherlands included; iron and steel, plastic articles and electrical machinery, Dalip Sharma, Regional Director, PHD Chamber said that greater synergy is required between both the countries for enhancing the trade and investments further.
